David Purvis Sr., Consulting Partner —
Dave has over 33 years experience as a FAA Certified Airline Pilot with over 24,000 hours of flight time and 14,000 hours as pilot in command.
Dave has Aircraft Type Ratings for B767, B757, MD-80, DC-9, BAC-111, Convair 580, Convair 340/440, and single and multi-engine land ratings. Dave is also certified in all light and twin engine aircraft.
Before forming Vision Aviation, Dave retired from USAir as a 767 Captain, worked as an international pilot for Air Aruba, was a flight instructor for Delta Airlines, and served as a corporate executive pilot.
Dave is a successful businessman with strong entrepreneurial development and management skills. He has founded and is managing several non-profit property management corporations including: Vision Ministries, Vision Properties, and Vision Early Childhood Center, Inc. All of these organizations continue to operate successfully. |
Craig Bird, Consulting Partner — Craig Bird has more than 38 years experience as a pilot, flight instructor, pilot examiner and aviation safety counselor, in many different piston and turbine aircraft. With more than 20 years experience as a flight department manager, including departments with as many as twelve aircraft and over forty pilots, he is a consultant to both domestic and foreign corporations involving aircraft purchasing, delivery and management, as well as individual and flight crew training. Mr. Bird has served as an instructor pilot at SimuFlite Training International in two turbine aircraft programs and has completed numerous ocean crossings. At present, he is current in several different jet types and frequently conducts both initial pilot certification as well as recurrent flight checks under FAR 61.55 and 61.58 |
